CISM Teams
Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) teams are important resources for the emergency services fields, providing vital support and resources to help peers survive a critical incident and work toward healing. As International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) certified instructors, we use the ICSF model for group and individual interventions.
We work with CISM teams to:
- Assist in team development through recruitment
- Strengthen teams by providing training in the ICSF model
- Lead webinars to deepen team member skills
- Consult on complex critical incidents

The Metro CISM Team is a volunteer group of first responders and mental health professionals that provide peer-led interventions to facilitate conversations and ease critical incident stress. Sue has trained our team members for many years and her teachings have helped us to be a better team. There aren’t many people like Sue; she understands the different types of first responder cultures and has the years of experience to back it up. She’s definitely one of my go-to people.
